Dental HIPAA 5010 Update
Emdeon continues to guide our customers successfully through the migration to the X12 5010 and NCPDP D.0 versions of the HIPAA transaction standards. We have updated our gap analysis documents to include the recent 5010 Errata changes and we have enhanced our 5010 systems and products to support the Errata versions of HIPAA transactions. The Errata versions of the gap analysis documents are available at the HIPAA simplified website under downloads.
Emdeon has initiated submitter and payer beta testing on the Errata versions.

Emdeon is also testing the Final Rule version with submitters and payers for the HIPAA X12 transactions that were not included in the Errata revisions:

Emdeon Dental is prepared for vendor partners to test Batch claims (837), Batch ERA (835) and Real-time Transactions (270-271; 276-277).
Emdeon is committed to fully support the 5010 standards prior to the compliance date of January 1st, 2012, the precise dates on which Emdeon will support 5010 standards will vary based on the product, transaction, payer readiness and client readiness.

Dental HIPAA 5010 Update
New Data Center
In 2010 Emdeon transitioned our South Windsor, CT data center operations to our state-of-the-art facility in Memphis, TN. The new location is a 15,000 square foot (raised floor), Tier 3+ data center equipped with dual generators, dual-path wiring, diverse data communications carriers, a dedicated 24/7 support staff and many other features designed to ensure continuity of service. Along with the latest security features and additional capacity, it is a fully redundant processing environment, to minimize the possibility of business interruption.

Increased Safety—Each year, approximately 1.5 million patients are injured by preventable medication errors. Dentists who ePrescribe submit prescriptions electronically in a standard format, thus reducing the need to interpret handwriting and minimizing selected medication errors.
